Summary:PURPOSE: To provide an ink supplying device, precluding the invasion of bubbles into a print head without increasing the resistance of a flow passage and capable of detecting the remaining amount of ink. CONSTITUTION: An intermediate ink chamber 4 is provided on the side surface of a main ink chamber 2, accommodating a capillary member 3 and provided with a communicating hole 7, while both of them are communicated through a communicating passage 5 as well as a joint port 11. The joint port 11 is provided with a second meniscus forming member 10 whereby the leakage of ink before attaching is prevented. Upon printing, ink flows from the main ink chamber 2 to the joint port 11 through a first meniscus forming member 8 provided in the communicating port 7, however, bubbles, mixed simultaneously, are moved along the slant of the upper surface of the communicating passage 5 due to the buoyancy of the bubbles themselves and are accumulated in the upper part of the intermediate ink chamber 11. When ink in the main ink chamber 6 is spent entirely, bubbles are introduced through the first meniscus forming member 8 and the level of the intermediate ink chamber 4 is lowered quickly whereby the cutting of the ink can be shown.
