Summary:PURPOSE: To make the device small and to reduce the cost by preventing image quality deterioration in a video signal with high image quality and displaying a video image with high resolution. CONSTITUTION: A video signal IN is converted into a visual light beam S10 by a visual light converter 10. The beam S10 is deflected horizontally and vertically in a retina projector 20 and raster scanning is directly applied to a retina 4 through pupils 3 of both eyes. In this case, a radiation beam S50 from an emission light source 50 is fed to an eye ball 1 through a beam splitter in the device 20, a reflected emission beam S23b is converted into an electric signal by a photoelectric converter 60 and motion detection signals S70H, S70V of the pupil 2 are detected by an image processing unit 70. A synchronization circuit 30 extracts a horizontal synchronizing signal S30H and a vertical synchronizing signal S30V in the video signal IN. A sight tracking controller 40 receives the signals S70H, S70V, S30H and S30V and gives a horizontal deflection signal S40H and a vertical deflection signal S40V to the retina projector 20 to trace the emission direction of the beam S20 emitted from the projector 20 with the movement of the pupil 2.
