PURPOSE: To widen a side visual field to prevent the occurrence of an accident by bending a portion, on the outer side of a mirror surface, in a direction to be opened outward to an inner side portion. CONSTITUTION: A side mirror 1 is attached to the side part outer side of the driver seat of a passenger car C. In the mirror surface 2, a large portion 2a from an inner side (vehicle body side) to an outer side is same as an ordinary side mirror, and a range shown by A can be observed from a driver's seat. A small portion 2b in an outer side out of the mirror surface of the side mirror 1 is bent outside with a line L in a longitudinal direction as a border. Consequently, a visual field is to have a range shown by B in the outer side than the inner side 2a. This side mirror 1 is safe because wherein the inner side portion 2a having the same visual field as a conventional side mirror, and the outer side portion 2b having the visual field in the outer side than the portion 2a, are integrated thereby to have a visual field wider than that of the conventional type, in particular, to be capable of completely observing an outer side portion which is a dead space in a conventional side mirror.
