Summary:PURPOSE: To prevent warp of a shelf board and to make it possible to change the height of the shelf plate, by providing a rail of a recess groove whose lower side is opened, and loading the end of the recess groove on a shelf pad units provided at the front and rear sides of the inner surface of the side board of a bookshelf, and convertible to the upper and the lower position, so as to compose the shelf board. CONSTITUTION: At the inner side opposing to a side board 2, cylindrical nuts 9 are buried in two lines, and cylindrical shelf pad units 10 are screwed in to the nuts 9. To shelf plates 5, two front and rear side frames 12 and 14 having recess grooves 11 and 13 whose lower sides are opened along the whole length of the shelf boards 5 in the lateral direction are provided. The width w1 of one of front side recess groove 11 in the longitudinal direction is made relatively narrow at the level to drop in the shelf pad units 10, while the width w2 of the other side recess groove 13 in the longitudinal direction is made wider to allow to drop in the shelf pad units 10 even though the shelf board 5 is hung on different levels of the unit 10. And to the recess grooves 11 and 13, book supports 15 to prevent the falling-down of books on the shelf board 5 just under the recess grooves are engaged by their own elasticity through legs 16 and 16.
