Summary:PURPOSE: To improve the reliability of connection without generating looseness even in the case where expansion and shrinkage are repeated by the heat of the exhaust gas at the time of fitting a muffler, which has an outer cylinder made of aluminium, to an exhaust pipe. CONSTITUTION: An end plate 2 made of aluminium is fixed to an outer cylinder 1, and a back plate 9 made of iron group metal, in which a nut 10 as a fastening member is pressed by welding or serration, is arranged in the inner side of the end plate 2, and the back plate 9 is fixed to the end plate 2. A disc-shape fitting seat 8 is fixed to an exhaust pipe 7 by welding or the like, and a muffler A is fitted to the exhaust pipe 7, and a bolt 11 made of the iron metal is threaded with the nut 10 for connection. Since the nut 10 and the bolt 11 are made of the iron group metal, coefficient of thermal expansion thereof are nearly equal to each other, and the generation of looseness due to the rise and lowering of temperature is eliminated.
