Summary:PURPOSE: To improve and stabilize the addition yield of additive elements and to efficiently produce a silicon steel having excellent magnetic flux density and iron loss characteristic by adding prescribed amounts of Bi, Pb, etc., to the composition of a silicon steel and also performing this addition by means of a tundish. CONSTITUTION: At the time of casting a silicon steel slab, a molten steel containing Si by 2.5-4.0%, by weight ratio, is poured from a ladle into a tundish and one or >=2 elements among Bi, Pb, Ca, and Mg are added in the tundish and incorporated by 0.0005-0.0500%. It is preferable that the silicon steel has a composition consisting of 0.03-0.15% C, 2.5-4.0% Si, 0.02-0.30% Mn, 0.005-0.040% Sand/or Se, 0.010-0.065% sol.Al, 0.0030-0.0150% N, 0.0005-0.0500% of one or >=2 elements among Bi, Pb, Ca, and Mg, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
