Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a push button key top with a simple structure capable of turning on or off only the switch contact facing one press section even when the middle portion of adjacent press sections of a key top board is pushed. CONSTITUTION: A key top board 20, formed into a disk shape, is provided with a stanchion 23 at the center of its lower face, and is provided with four press sections 27-1 through 27-4 at positions apart radially centering on the position of the stanchion 23. The stanchion 23 is formed into a polygonal shape (square) with the same number of sides (four sides) as the number (four) of the press sections 27-1 through 27-4. The sides of the stanchion 23 are provided at positions perpendicular to the lines connecting the center point of the stanchion 23 and the press sections 27-1 through 27-4. When a prescribed position of the key top board 20 is pushed, the key top board 20 is rocked centering on one side of four lower end sides of the stanchion 23 mounted on a flexible board 83. Two of the press sections 27-1 through 27-4 are never lowered to press switch contacts at the same time.
