PURPOSE: To eliminate an adverse influence caused by adding a supercharger while enhancing output of an engine compressor. CONSTITUTION: A compressor C is interlocked with and connected to an engine E, and a delivery passage 2 of the compressor C is communicated with an intake air passage 1 of the engine E through a supercharging passage 3, and a supercharging pressure regulating valve 6 is arranged in a connecting part 5 of the supercharging passage 3 and the intake air passage 1, and the supercharging pressure regulating valve 6 is constituted so that a valve element 8 can be energized to open its valve toward the intake air passage 1 by a valve spring 7. Since the engine E can be effectively supercharged by using compressed air of the compressor C, a supercharger can be eliminated from the engine compressor. When supercharging pressure of a supercharging side intake air passage 11 tries to be abnormally raised, since an air quantity from an air cleaner 17 is increased and a compressed air quantity from the supercharging passage 3 is reduced by a valve opening function of the supercharging pressure regulating valve 6, the engine E can be reliably protected.
