Summary:PURPOSE: To measure the speed of the resin moved in a mold by arranging a plurality of position sensors detecting the leading end of the molten resin moved in the mold along the resin passage in the mold at a predetermined interval. CONSTITUTION: Reflection type optical fiber sensors (sensor 2) 2a-2f are embedded in the passage in molds 1a, 1b at a predetermined interval as a plurality of position sensors. The sensitivity of the sensor 2 can be adjusted according to the shape of the passage or the kind of a resin. A molten resin leading end detecting timing can be set to either one of a case such that the reflection signal from the surface 1c opposite to the surface provided with the sensor 2 is always detected by the sensor 2 and an output signal falls when a resin flows in and a case such that the sensitivity to the reflection signal is preliminarily allowed to fall and light is reflected from the leading end surface of the resin when the resin reaches the sensor 2 to issue an output signal. When the resin flows in the passage, a detection signal is outputted corresponding to the distance from the sensor 2 with a time lag and moving speed is measured on the basis of the distance from the sensor 2 and the time lag.
