PURPOSE:To reduce the change in temp. distribution on a surface by a uniform heat plate, to suppress contrast change due to the temp. distribution and to enhance display dignity, to support a light transmission plate at the nearly thickness of the light transmission plate by a frame body, to hold a gap between with a liquid crystal cell to a fixed level and to simultaneously attain the thinning of a display device and the improvement of the display quality. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted so as to be provided with the liquid crystal cell 1, the light transmission plate 4 arranged downward the liquid crystal cell 1, the frame body 6 supporting the liquid crystal cell 1 and the light transmission plate 4, a light source 5 arranged along one side of the light transmission plate 4 and the uniform heat plate 8 arranged on the back surface of the light source 5 and the rear surface of the light source side of the light transmission plate 4. Further, the light transmission plate 4 whose tip end from the frame body 6 is supported by the rear surface and the surface, and the back end is supported by the surface. Then, both side parts are supported by the rear surface being the direction different from the support of the back end part, and the linear light source is arranged along the side of the back end.
