Summary: | PURPOSE: To make it possible to set the deformation of a wood effected by its compression, in a short time by first setting a compression-molded wood in a high pressure container using a high-temperature vapor, and then quenching the wood with the help of a cooling water. CONSTITUTION: A wood 2 is transported into the interior of a high-temperature high-pressure container 1, then is set on the lower surface 10 of a molding frame 11 of a compression-molding device 8, and a high-temperature vapor is supplied to the interior of the container 1 through a vapor feed pipe 3 to soften the wood 2. After that, the punch 9 of the molding frame 11 is caused to descend under pressure by extending the piston rod 12a of a press cylinder 12 for the compression-molding device 8. Thus the wood is molded by compression to a desired shape equal to about 1/3 or less of the total volume. Next, the internal pressure of the container 1 is gradually decreased, and at the same time, the moisture accumulated in the interior is drained, then a cooling water 13 is supplied to the interior of the container 1 through a cooling water feed pipe 4, and thus the wood 2 and the molding frame 11 of the compression- molding device 8 are cooled. Consequently, the deformation of the wood 2 by compression molding is securely set, so that it can be set in a short time. |
