Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a three-dimensional coordinate detector and three- dimensional coordinate position display device with which the operability of coordinate position designation is facilitated, a three-dimensional coordinate position can be exactly acquired and the configuration can be simplified. CONSTITUTION: One three-dimensional magnetic sensor 51 is arranged on a magnetic sensor board 5 in a designated area corresponding to a bar magnet 3 built in a pen 4. Since a +M pole is arranged at the top end of the pen 4, in order to recognize the position of the +M pole at the top end of the pen 4, a magnetic field (magnetic flux density) radiated from the +M pole of the bar magnet 3 is measured at the cycle of about 0.5msec corresponding to motion by the three-dimensional magnetic sensor 51 at all time so that the motion of the top end of the pen 4 can be recognized and the position of a cursor on a screen can be moved corresponding to the motion of the top end of the pen 4. When the bar magnet 3 is moved to the right and left on the board 5, the cursor on the screen is moved to the right and left on the board 5 as well. When the bar magnet 3 is made distant from the board 5 or close to it in the vertical direction, the cursor 2 is vertically moved on the screen.
