Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a grating attachment/detachment device which can conduct the attaching/detaching work of a grating safely and in a short time without requiring many helping hands. CONSTITUTION: The retaining device 10 of a grating equipped with a suspension hook 20 is fitted to a gate type traveling truck 1 to be run by a traveling device 3 equipped with a traveling distance detecting mechanism 2 astride of the top of the grating to be provided on the opening surface of a structure, and the retaining device 10 is provided with an ascent/descent device 12 equipped with an ascent/descent position detecting mechanism 11, and the retaining confirmation mechanism 22 of the grating.
