One end of the bar-like work W is made to pressure-contact with a backing plate 19 by the rotation of the rollers 16, 17, and the other end surface of the bar-like work W is ground by the slide-contact of the groove-like peripheral surface 40, which has a circular cross section, of a grinding wheel 20.
