Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a sewing machine capable of informing the possible length of a continuous pattern. CONSTITUTION: This bobbin thread detection sewing machine is constituted so that basic bobbin thread requirement data of a continuous pattern are stored in a pattern data memory means 1, and after the basic bobbin thread requirement data are corrected by a basic bobbin thread requirement correction means 7, the possible sewing length is calculated at a possible sewing length calculation means 10 based on the basic bobbin thread requirement data and the rest from the bobbin thread detection means 8. This calculation result is displayed on a display means 6.
