Summary:PURPOSE: To reduce the size and weight of a portable computer device on the whole and to lighten the burden on a user by putting a card, a lid for a battery for operation, and a detecting device, required for data protection, together in one. CONSTITUTION: This device consists of a main body 1, a lid 2, a memory card or I/O card 3, the battery 4 for operation, a lid fixing device 5 which fixes the lid 2, and the detecting device 6 such as a switch which detects the lid fixing device 5 being released. The user operates the lid fixing device 5 when replacing the card 3 or battery 4 for operation of release the lid 2 from being fixed. The detecting device 6 inform an interruption control circuit that the lid fixing device 5 is released. A CPU knows that the lid fixing device 5 is released through the control circuit and performs data protecting operation so that the card 3 or battery 4 for operation may be replaced. Consequently, only one lid 2, lid fixing device 5, and detecting device 6 each are needed, so the device is reduced in size and weight on the whole.
