Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the hardener compsn. used for producing a casting mold having high strength and good surface stability, to provide the binder-hardener kit formed by combining this hardener compsn. with a binder and further to provide the process for production of the casting mold having excellent efficiency of using a molding flask by using these materials. CONSTITUTION:This hardener compsn. contains a compd. having an epoxy group, such as polyglycerol polyglicidyl ether and org. ester, such as gamma- butyrolactone. The hardener compsn. is supplied as the kit by combining the compsn. in the form of a soln. with the binder in the form of an aq. soln. contg. a resol type water-soluble phenolic resin. A soln. of this hardener compsn. is added and kneaded to and with a refractory granular material at the time of producing the casting mold. An aq. binder soln. contg. the resol type water-soluble phenolic resin is added and kneaded with the resulted mixture, by which a sand compsn. is obtd. This sand compsn. is packed into the molding flask and thereafter, the binder is cured, by which the casting mold is produced.
