PURPOSE:To inform of inspection contents by instructing the stop of registration processing or the change of registered contents by inspecting whether dictionary registered contents adversely affect translation processing or not while using a dictionary access function or a morpheme analysis function. CONSTITUTION:A dictionary register item designated by a dictionary register 102 is dispatched to a dictionary register item inspection device 101 in order to inspect whether the contents are suitable for registration onto a user dictionary or not. The dictionary register item inspecting device 101 inspects the dictionary register item dispatched from the dictionary register 102 by referring to the dictionary and performing morpheme analysis and when it is recognized the item is not suitable for registration, an error message showing that and processing choices to be selected by a user are returned to the dictionary register 102. The user select any one of processing choices shown by an error message display processing selector 103. The dictionary register 102 performs selected processing, and contents to be written in the user dictionary are written in a dictionary 104.
