Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain excellent control accuracy by independently operating a voltage control circuit and a current control circuit. CONSTITUTION:A switch circuit 613 switches output signals ALPHV, ALPHI of a voltage control circuit (AVR) 610 and a current control circuit (ACR) 612 to an output signal CH2 of an AVR, ACR switching decision circuit 617. Switching decision is performed with output signals of a voltage setting detection circuit 618 and a current limiter value detection circuit 614. A field current If of a field coil 102 is detected by a shunt resistor R5. When the detected current exceeds the predetermined current limiter value, the current limiter value detection circuit 614 outputs a signal. The voltage setting detection circuit 618 outputs a signal depending on whether a battery voltage Vs has exceeded the predetermined voltage setting value or not. As explained, AVR 610 and ACR612 are switchingly controlled to operate independently even when these are connected in parallel.
