Summary:PURPOSE:To eliminate stripes in a horizontal direction which appear due to the difference of the responses of a period when a shutter pulse is impressed and the period when it is not impressed on a screen at the time of the substrate shutter operation of a CCD image sensor. CONSTITUTION:The output signals S1 of the CCD are inputted through a switching circuit 14 to a video amplifier circuit 15 and passed through a noise elimination circuit 16, then only valid signal components are sampled by a sample-and-hold circuit 17 and they are outputted from a buffer circuit 18. The signal of the period when the shutter pulse is impressed and fluctuated among the output signals of the CCD is replaced with a fixed signal level VDC in the switching circuit 14. Then, the level fluctuation of the horizontal blanking period of the CCD output signals generated in the substrate shutter operation is replaced with a reference voltage by the switching circuit 14. Thus, at the time of the substrate shutter operation, the stripes in the horizontal direction generated at the timing of the shutter pulse can be eliminated.
