Summary: | PURPOSE:To obtain a colloidal surface treatment useful for obtaining a metal surface treatment, a car wax, etc., excellent in colloid stability against temperature change and long-term change, protective properties, lubricating properties, spreadability, etc., and usable in uses except those for the human body, livestock, etc., by adding a specified polar lanolin component. CONSTITUTION:A polar lanolin component obtained by adsorptively treating wool wax. It is prepared by, for example, dissolving wool wax in a nonpolar solvent (e.g. n-hexane), adimitting the solution into an absorption tower packed with an adsorbent (e.g. activated clay) to obtain nonpolar lanolin as the eluate, admitting a polar organic solvent (e.g. alcohol) into the adsorption tower again to elute the polar compound, and evaporating the solvent from the eluate to leave a polar component. |
