PURPOSE:To miniaturize and lighten an overheat protective device for resistors mounted for balancing input voltage in a plurality of inverters connected in series and operated. CONSTITUTION:Since overheat states which have been detected through a temperature sensor detecting the temperatures of balance resistors 11, 12 and a transformer for insulating an output from the temperature sensor from a main circuit and transmitting the output in the balance resistors 11, 12, the cost of an overheat protective device is expensive and the overheat protective device is scaled up, but quantity corresponding to the power consumption of the overheat protective device is obtained from the input voltage of an inverter and the firing signals of switches 21, 22 turning the balance resistors 11, 12 on and off, thus eliminating the need for the temperature sensor and the insulating transformer.
