Summary: | PURPOSE:To perform the discoloration and toning of wood in a single process by circulating a discoloring soln. containing a reducing agent within a high temp. and high pressure container having a wood pressing device under heating and pressing wood to push out the discoloring soln. and subsequently depressuringing the wood to infiltrate a toning soln. containing an oxidizing agent into the wood while circulating the toning soln. under heating. CONSTITUTION:Wood 1 is placed and supported on the receiving stand 16 of the press machine 4 in a high temp. and high pressure container 2. The container 2 is hermetically closed and evacuated through an exhaust pipe 5 to be internally brought to a vacuum state to extract the air in the wood. A discoloring soln. (a) is supplied to the container 2 from a discoloring soln. tank 3a to immerse the wood 1 in the discoloring soln. (a). The discoloring soln. (a) is circulated by the operation of a heating and circulating device 11 while heated by a heat exchanger 10 to discolor the wood 1. After the discoloration is completed, the discoloring soln. is drained and the wood 1 is pressed by the press machine 4 to push out the discoloring soln. (a) and the wood 1 is immersed in the toning soln. (b) supplied after the discoloring soln. is drained. The toning soln. (b) is sucked into the wood 1 by the restoration force of the wood. Therefore, discoloration and toning can be performed in the container 2. |
