Summary: | PURPOSE:To reduce a space in the peripheral part of the electrode device parts arranged in both end parts in a glass tube, expand an effective light emitting area, and reduce the number of part items and assembling manhours. CONSTITUTION:A column shape electrode 41 is molded in a column shape by compressing a material obtained by mixing tungsten powder, Ti3Hg powder and Zr-Al powder by a proper quantity with each other, and is baked in an N2 atmosphere equal to or lower than about 350 deg.C, and a sintered metallic body is formed, and an emitter material is applied to or impregnated into this sintered metallic body. After the inside of a glass tube 1 is sealed in a vacuum, since this column shape electrode 42 is heated at about 800 deg.C by high frequency heating from outside of the glass tube 1, mercury is supplied inside of the glass tube 1 from Ti3Hg, and Zr-Al is activated, and a nonevaporative getter function is endowed, and active impure gas in the glass tube 1 is adsorbed, and the emitter material contained in the metallic body of a sintered base body after this mercury is discharged and the getter function is imparted, functions as an electron emitting substance. |
