Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain an image signal with high quality by which signal level difference between two channels can be automatically controlled and receiving low influence due to temperature change. CONSTITUTION:The output signal of a charge coupled device of dual channel reading system is supplied to a signal gain detector 27 via a second switch circuit which samples the signal only for a vertical blanking period. A reference signal electric charge from an input diode 10 is supplied to right and left vertical shift registers 14 via a first input gate 11 and a second input gate 12, respectively. The signal level difference between both channels is detected by the signal gain detector 27, and it is sent to a gain control circuit 28 which controls the gains of first and second pre-amplifiers 20, 22 so as to reduce the difference.
