Summary:PURPOSE:To automatically allocate a display picture in the order of high frequency in use, to simplify and quicken the operation and to improve the flexibility. CONSTITUTION:In a display device for reading out one display picture from plural display pictures and displaying it on a display screen, the display device is provided with a high use frequency calling area of the display screen in which the display picture is allocated in the order of high frequency in use, storage means 15, 17 storing the picture identification data of the display picture concerned and the number of calls in the order of high use frequency of the display picture, updating means 16, 18 adding one to the number of calls of the display pictures stored in the storage means 15, 17 when the display picture allocated to the high use frequency calling area is called, and updating the order of the frequency in use of the display picture according to the number of calls after addition and a display control means 21 automatically allocating the picture identification data of the display picture to the high use frequency calling area based on the updated frequency in use.
