Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent deficiency of parallelism of lead wires or deterioration of a spring property so as to provide an air-tight terminal of high dimensional accuracy by forming bottomed grooves along the lead axial direction at the tips of leads with an element fixed thereto. CONSTITUTION:A bottomed groove 6 is formed along the lead axial direction at the tip 3A of the lead 3, to which an element 4 is fixed, in an air-tight terminal 10 by machining means such as a laser beam so that the tip 3A of the lead 3 is formed thinly, thus applying a desired spring property. A plurality of metal rings 2 with the two leads 3 fixed in arrangement in parallel to each other in such a manner as to project from the top ends of the metal rings 2 are prepared, and then, the metal rings 2 are arranged so that the leads 3 are aligned on a line, followed by projection of the laser beam 7 along the arranging direction F of the leads 3, thus realizing the formation of the groove 6. The projection of the laser beam 7 continuously forms the bottomed grooves 6 at the tips 3A of the leads 3 at the same time.
