Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a normal image on the whole image plane by arranging mutually opposing conductive plates of a horizontal deflecting electrode outside of an effective electron beam passing area, and radiating electron beams only on a small division of a prescribed image in the vicinity of the image screen. CONSTITUTION:Strip paper-like conductive plates 16A and 16B are arranged opposite in the vertical direction on the same plane in the middle of a row of a through-hole 14 of a focusing electrode 5, and respective branch parts 23A and 23B of the conductive plates 16A and 16B to constitute a pair of horizontal deflecting electrodes 6 are arrange opposite to each other, and prescribed different voltages are impressed on the respective conductive plates, and electron beams are deflected horizontally. An opposing branch part pair 24 in a branch part 23 is arranged outside of an effective electron beam passing area. Thereby, since a locus up to a screen from a line electrode can be made to coincide with each other in the electron beam of a unit in a central part of an image screen and the electron beam a unit in a peripheral part of the image screen, overlapping radiation of the electron beams of the adjacent units or a clearance are not caused, so that a normal image can be obtained on the whole image plane.
