Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an optical waveguide module which connects optical waveguides and optical fibers without alignment. CONSTITUTION:This optical waveguide module has a substrate 2 which has the optical waveguides 6, an optical filter crossing the optical waveguides 6 and guide grooves 7 for positioning guide pins 5 and upper caps 3, 4 which fix the guide pins 5 to this substrate 2 at both ends in the longitudinal direction of the substrate 2. These upper caps 3, 4 are provided with grooves 10 for fixing the guide pins 5 in positions facing the guide grooves 7. Either one upper cap of the upper caps 3, 4 is so formed as to cover the optical filter and is provided with a recessed part 12 in a part covering the optical filter. Then, the easy and sure clamping of the guide pins 5 is possible and the need for working to chip the projecting parts of the optical filters at the time of mounting the upper cap to cover the optical filter, etc., is eliminated.
