Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a carcinostatic agent showing highly carcinostatic action even in use at a low concentration and excellent synergistic effect, comprising both a hydroxymethylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor and a protein farnesyl group transferase inhibitor as active ingredients. CONSTITUTION:This carcinostatic agent comprises (A) a 3-hydroxy-3- methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor such as a compound of formula I [R1 is a group of formula II (X is a 1-8C alkyl; Y is H, OH or methyl), etc.] and (B) a protein farnesyl group transferase inhibitor such as a compound of formula III as active ingredients. A dose of the active ingredients is preferably 2-80mg of the component A and 20-800mg of the component B per adult daily.
