PURPOSE:To obtain the subject food or drink containing casein phosphopeptide and calcium, excellent in calcium absorption promoting effect and capable of carrying out improvement on absorption of calcium to persons lowered in a rate or an amount of calcium absorption. CONSTITUTION:This casein phosphopeptide-containing food or drink for persons having low calcium absorbing ability, e.g. fruit drink contains casein phosphopeptide at a weight ratio of >=0.30 times based on calcium and has calcium absorption promoting effect and is capable of carrying out improvement on absorption of calcium to persons lowered in a rate or an amount of calcium absorption. The food or drink is obtained by reacting a casein with trypsin, treating the product with a cation exchange resin to purify the product, blending the prepared casein phosphopeptide with a calcium component such as calcium lactate, sugar and citric acid, etc., dissolving the blend in a warm water heated to 45 deg.C, mixing the solution with concentrated apple juice, flavor, etc., diluting the mixed solution with water, packing the diluted solution in a can, etc., and subjecting the interior of can, etc., to heat sterilization.
