Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the speaker in thin and long structure which hardly causes split resonance and have flat frequency characteristics and is superior in tone quality. CONSTITUTION:A diaphragm 1a is formed in an axially asymmetrical shape which has a long-axis direction and a short-axis direction, and swelled toward a vibration direction. The shape of a voice coil 6a driving the diaphragm 1a is made beltlike so that the outer peripheral part of the diaphragm la is surrounded. The diaphragm 1a and a voice coil bobbin 6a are held in a frame 11a through an edge 3a. A yoke 8a, a magnet 9a, and a plate 10a which constitute a magnetic circuit 21 are also formed in an elliptic shape similar to the diaphragm 1a when viewed from the center axis of the diaphragm 1a. Consequently, the rigidity of the diaphragm 1a is increased and the whole diaphragm is driven, so split resonance of the diaphragm 1a is hardly caused to obtain flat frequency characteristics in an intermediate and a high frequency range.
