Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a thin type keyboard the overall height of which is reduced by a method wherein the guide rod of a key top is guided by a pair of support bosses molded integrally with a resin frame. CONSTITUTION:The press-down posture of a key top 6 is kept through fit-in between the support boss 5b of a resin frame 5 and the guide rod 6c of a key top 6. Since the guide rod 6c of the key top 6 has a stroke extending to a position in the vicinity of a membrane contact 2, there is no need for the length of a cylinder boss 6a related to a switch opening closing stroke to ensure a value higher than a switch opening closing stroke and the overall height of a key top switch can be reduced.
