Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain magnetic recording medium binder having excellent durability and a magnetic recording medium employing the binder. CONSTITUTION:2-200wt. part of fluorine-containing vinyl monomer is added to 100wt. parts of diol whose molecule has unsaturated groups and has an average molecular weight of 300-5000 and made to react with it to obtain fluorine-containing vinyl denatured polyol. The fluorine-containing vinyl denatured polyol, polyisocyanate and chain extending agent are made to react with each other to obtain fluorine-containing polyurethane resin binder. A magnetic recording medium is made of the fluorine-containing polyurethane resin binder and polyisocyanate curing agent.
