Summary:PURPOSE:To minimize an influence upon the reception characteristic of an antenna main body by using a single layer of resin, which essentially consists of a copolymer of an acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene system and has approximately value of one in specific dielectric constant, as materials of a radome. CONSTITUTION:A single layer of resin whose dielectric constant is equal to or smaller than 2 is used as materials of a radome 20 of an antenna system 1. With respect to a dielectric having this small dielectric constant, the resin is used which essentially consists of a copolymer of an acrylonitrile-butadiene- styrene system and has approximately value of one in specific dielectric constant. The dielectric constant of the radome 20 is approximated to that of ambient air, namely, one to reduce an influence upon the electromagnetic field around the planar array antenna 1. That is, an influence of the radome 20 upon the reception characteristic of the antenna 1 is reduced in accordance with approximation of the dielectric constant of the dielectric to one. Consequently, it is sufficient if the antenna substance is most suitably designed, and the time and the labor required for optimum design are considerably reduced, and the reception gain is less varied even when the elevation of the antenna is changed.
