Summary:PURPOSE:To accomplish dwarfing a Cytisus scoparius plant so as to be useful for the flowering trees for gardens or view, by irradiating the juvenile embryos of a Cytisus scoparius with gamma rays to produce a juvenile plant from the embryos by tissue culture to efficiently produce a dwarf plant. CONSTITUTION:The juvenile embryos of a Cytisus scoparius plant are irradiated with gamma rays (the dosage being pref. 25-400Gy), and from the resultant embryos, a juvenile plant is produced by conducting a tissue culture in a medium prepared by incorporating, e.g. a Murashige-Skoog basal medium with a solidifying agent like agar-agar and phytohormone(s) like auxin and/or cytokinin, thus accomplishing the production of the objective dwarf Cytisus scoparius plant.
