Summary:PURPOSE:To continuously carry out an excavating work without suspension of excavation due to discharging soil, by providing an earth collecting plate equipped with a suction pipe, near a rotary excavating member and connecting it to a suction pump installed at the outside of the excavating hole. CONSTITUTION:A suction pipe 4 having a suction opening near a rotary excavating member 2 of an automatic traveling carrier 1 and connected to a suction pump 6 installed at the outside of the vertical hole 3. The first cylinder is actuated while driving the carrier and transferring it to a specified direction and the rotary excavating member 2 is vertically moved through a swing arm and the cutter drum is rotated by the actuation of the drive motor to excavate the ground by a cutter bit. At the same time, the second cylinder is actuated to vertically move the earth collecting plate for collection of soil. Further, the suction pump 6 is actuated to suck the excavated soil into the suction pipe 4 through the suction opening by turns and discharge it to the outside of the vertical hole 3. In this way, the excavating process and the discharging process are parallelly carried out at the same time.
