Summary:PURPOSE:To provide an insulator for a conductor having a simple structure, allowing easy mounting on a bare conductor and having the capability of increasing insulation strength in the air, even when an insulation distance between the conductor and a fitting faced thereto is not sufficient. CONSTITUTION:An insulation cover 2 is formed approximately cylindrical, so as to cover a conductor 3 over the prescribed length. Also, an open section 4 is formed on the external surface of the cover 2, extending along an axial direction, and expanded against the elasticity of the cover 2 for attaching or detaching the cover 2 to and from the conductor 3. In addition, a pair of walls 5 are erected from the external surface of the cover 2 in the vicinity of both sides of the section 4 and used to increase an insulation distance from the conductor 3 to a fitting faced thereto via the section 4.
