Summary:PURPOSE:To meet ideal characteristics by one magnetic core material and at the same time to provide a higher inductance than that of a dust core by forming an electric insulating cover film in the surface of specific foil and then winding the foil in an annular form to make a toroidal magnetic core and applying a winding thereto. CONSTITUTION:An unidirectional electromagnetic steel plate containing an Si of 1 to 7% by weight is cooled and rolled to obtain Fe-Si alloy foil having a direction in which the plate orientation of crystal particles constituting foil of 10 to 200mum thick is (110) and the rolling direction is (001). After an electric insulating cover film is formed in the surface of the foil, the foil is wound in an annular form so that the rolling direction is the circumferential direction to form a toroidal magnetic core, and a winding is applied thereto in the circumferential direction to form an inductor element. The outer diameter of the toroidal magnetic core is not more than 30mm. Then, magnetic permeability at high frequencies of not less than 10KHz shows a value of not less than 400 at a zero magnetic field and shows the constant value of 100 to 200 at a high magnetic field of 1 to 3kA/m.
