Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain the feed of high palatability and digestibility by subjecting an alkali-treated bagasse to fermentation together with the seed of a specific lactobacillus and nutrients. CONSTITUTION:An alkali-treated bagasse is combined with a seed of lactobacillus which can proliferate even in 9.5 or higher pH or in 6.5w/w% sodium chloride solution, for example, Enterococcus faecium FERM BR-4504, and nutrient sources. The fermented bagasse feed is readily obtained from an alkali-treated bagasse of a pH over 9.
