Summary:PURPOSE:To leads out the output of a solar battery to a maximum even if the solar battery has variation in characteristics or variation in load by controlling the output voltage of the solar battery to a constant value. CONSTITUTION:The solar battery 1 and a load 3 are connected through a DC-DC converter 2. The DC-DC converter 2 is a PWM control system (separate excitation type), and makes a comparison with the signal generated by detecting and compensating the voltage of the solar battery 1 with temperature, i.e., a reference voltage Vref1 and outputs the signal generated by amplifying its error. A voltage applied to the load 3 is detected and compared with a certain reference signal Vref2 and the signal generated by amplifying the error is inputted to a mode switch 7. The mode switch 7 judges the state of the load 3 and solar battery 1 from the inputted signals and inputs a proper signal to a PWM comparator 6. Consequently, this device operates as a dual-mode switching regulator which makes the output voltage of the solar battery 1 constant or the output of the DC-DC converter 2 constant.
