Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce dimension and weight and facilitate control by opening and closing the part between output terminals by controlling a selector according to the displacement and the relative speed between two supporting members. CONSTITUTION:When vibration is generated on a vibration controlled object M by an earthquake, etc., a displacement sensor 2 detects the relative displacement between a supporting pillar 8a in vibration. The signal of the displacement sensor 2 is amplified by an amplifier 3, and the displacement speed is measured by a differentiator 4. The displacement quantity and the displacement speed are digital-converted by an A/D converter 5, and the result is inputted into a personal computer 6. The personal computer 6 turns-ON/OFF a selector 7 so that the resistance force corresponding to the displacement state is applied to the vibration controller 1. When vibration is generated, the vibration controller 1 revolves a dynamo to generate an electromotive force. When the output terminal of the dynamo is short-circuited by the selector 7, the electric resistance becomes zero, while when the output terminal is opened, the electric resistance becomes infinity. Accordingly, the damping force for the vibration can be varied by the selector 7.
