PURPOSE: To remove effectively halo above and below a core appearing due to a deflection magnetic field while to better a vertically oblong type spot in a screen center part, by having a construction wherein a first and a second accelerating and focusing electrodes perform focusing actions in the vertical and horizontal directions in different fixed positions. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of projecting parts 33b, which each has a hole smaller than an electron beam passing hole 33a in the horizontal in-line direction and whose central part projects and both sides are flat, are formed at equal spaces on one side surface of a first accelerating and focusing electrode 33. A plurality of accepting parts 34b, which each has a width smaller than an electron beam passing hole 34a in the horizontal in-line direction and whose central part sinks and both sides are flat, are formed at equal spaces on one side surface of a second accelerating and focusing electrode 34. Because the projecting part 33b and the accepting part 34b are constructed so as to stand opposite to each other, main electrostatic focusing lenses are formed in different positions in the vertical direction and in the horizontal direction. Over focusing in the vertical direction and under focusing in the horizontal direction in edge parts of a screen are thereby improved.
