Summary:PURPOSE:To provide a high speed seeking system capable of greatly shortening access time (seeking time, in particular). Then, this is made to be pulse by a slice level smaller than the minimum amplitude of the total tracking light quantity signal preset by a comparator 63 and only after a deviation up to a target level is smaller than a set value, moving direction discrimination is performed by the total tracking light quantity signal.
