PURPOSE:To obtain the subject composition comprising the aqueous dispersion of a urethane vinylic composite resin obtained by graft-copolymerizing a vinylic monomer to a polyurethane containing a specific polyol component, excellent in the dispersibility of pigment particles, and imparting light luster to coating films. CONSTITUTION:This composition comprises the aqueous dispersion of a urethane vinylic composite resin obtained by graft-polymerizing a vinylic monomer [e.g. methyl (meth)acrylate] to a water-soluble and water-dispersible polyurethane containing a compound of formula I [A is divalent organic residual group of formula II (R1 is H, COOH or an alkyl); B is a trivalent aliphatic residual group) (e.g. preferably the esterification product of a polyol compound such as a polyetherpolyol with a rosin and a polyhydric alcohol) as a polyol component and having an acid value of >=20.
