Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve the braking performance on the ice and the lateral slip preventive performance on the ice while maintaining the running property on the snow, by forming lands by longitudinal and the lateral grooves, and making the ratio of the area of the grounding scope and the total area of the grounding scope of the lands, and the like, at a specific value. CONSTITUTION:Tread grooves 6 are formed with sipings 5 having the groove width less than 2.0mm applied to blocks B1 to B5 which are divided by longitudinal and lateral grooves 3 and 4, and the following conditions are satisfied: 0.63<S1/S<0.72, 20<SIGMAXAi/TW<35, 15.5< SIGMAYAi/TH<25, 0.6<SIGMAXBi/SIGMAXAi<0.8, and 0.6<SIGMAYBi/SIGMAYAi<0.8. Where the grounding area of the grounding scope 7=S; the total grounding area of the lands 9 in the grounding scope 7=S1 ; the maximum grounding width in the axial direction =TW; the total sums of the projecting length of the tread groove 6 to the meridian cross section and to the tire equatorial surface C=SIGMAXAi and SIGMAYAi; the maximum grounding length in the circumferential direction =TH; the total sums of the projecting length of the tread groove edge to the meridian cross section and to the tire equatorial surface C=SIGMAXbi and SIGMAYBi. Consequently, the characteristics of the braking performance on the ice, the lateral slip preventive performance on the ice, and the running property on one snow can be improved. |
