Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the mounting structure of the reinforcing member of a suspension tower for automobile which can be engaged with and disengaged from the suspension tower easily and be accommodated easily when it is removed from the suspension tower without mounting a particular fixture or the like. CONSTITUTION:A strut bar 10 which provides reinforcement by linking right and left rear suspension towers 1 with each other is mounted between both the suspension towers via an engaging/disengaging mechanism which locks the right and left end parts of the strut bar 10 against the respective rear suspension towers. On the engaging/disengaging mechanism, a switching means, which switches between the locking condition and the removable condition of the end parts of the strut bar against the suspension towers, is mounted. The strut bar is mounted integratedly on the seat pack 2a of a foldable rear seat 2. It is thus possible to accommodate the strut bar in a prescribed accommodating position along with the folding action of the seat pack 2a when its linkage with the respective rear suspension towers is released.
