Summary: | PURPOSE:To increase rigidity of calipers for a disk brake by insert-casting a reinforcing material in a caliper body with Al serving as the material. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing material 2 of compounding a grain or fiber dispersed uniformly in aluminum or an aluminum alloy is insert-casted in a caliper body 1 from a cylinder part 1b via a bridge part 1c to an outer pawl part 1a. Both the caliper body 1 and the reinforcing material 2 are closely connected with thermal expansion coefficients thereof almost in agreement, and the reinforcing material 2 is prevented from separating from the caliper body 1. By a grain or fiber uniformly dispersed in the reinforcing material 2, its high temperature strength and rigidity are increased. |
