Summary:PURPOSE:To improve drive feeling within a safe range by setting target driving torque to satisfy a specified condition according to lateral acceleration, vehicle speed and speed change of a low speed step, when the target driving torque is set according to the magnitude of the lateral acceleration applied to a vehicle during its turning motion. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of solenoid valves 46, 51 for torque control are duty-controlled by an electronic control unit 54. For example, when a duty rate is 100%, the pressure in the pressure chamber 39 of an actuator 36 becomes a negative pressure approximately equal to inner pressure of a vacuum tank 43 and since a control pole 38 is lifted of, a throttle valve 15 is closed in no relation to an acceleration pedal 26, and then driving torque of an internal combustion engine is forcibly decreased. The target driving torque is set by a torque calculation unit 58 according to the magnitude of lateral acceleration applied to a vehicle during its turning motion. In this case, the target driving torque becomes lower as the lateral acceleration becomes larger, and it becomes higher as the vehicle speed becomes lower, and then it is set higher than that on the other speed change step at the time of speed change on the low speed step.
