Summary:PURPOSE:To attain the same transparency and luster scratch shielding property, water resistance and non-aqueous contamination resistance as glass by using a product obtained by allowing a colloidal silica and a silicon compound to react with a melamine resin in solvent as a main component. CONSTITUTION:A scratch shielding agent for a glass vessel having 5-50% solid matter is obtained by using the product obtained by allowing 1 pts.wt. colloidal silica and 0.2-100 pts.wt. at least one kind of the organosilicon compound selected from an organosilicon compound expressed by the formula, its hydrolysis product and its partial condensation product (in the formula, (x) is 0.1, R is alkyl, vinyl, phenyl, amino alkyl, (meth)acryloxy alkyl, glycidoxy alkyl, polyoxyalkylene, polyoxyalkylene alkyl group, R' is alkyl or phenyl group, R'' is lower alkyl group) to react with 0.01-20 pts.wt. melamine resin in total solid matter in a water solvent at 0-80 deg.C for 1-36hrs as the main component.
